Arabian Horses
As an independent, non-profit foundation that works with the Arabian Horse Association, The Arabian Horse Owners Foundation has become a valuable resource for Arabian horse enthusiasts all over the world. For more than 20 years now, AHOF has brought together breeders, exhibitors and leaders of the community to identify issues and propose solutions to the Arabian breed.
The Arabian Horse Owners Association has a mission and that is to meet the needs of the Arabian Horse Community through education and breeding. The AHOF houses an extensive collection of information on Arabian horse breeding and historical maps at the W.R. Brown Memorial Library.
AHOF continues to play a big role in the Arabian horse community and they are always looking for more assistance in many areas including promoting Arabian horses in open competitions, providing educational materials and resources about arabian horses, organizing Arabian leadership conferences and more. The Arabian breed originated in the Arabian peninsula roughly 4,000 to 5,000 years ago. They have adapted well to the desert climate and can thrive off of very little food.
